Q

Bringing a hotpack level up to date

A client wants to migrate an SAP R/3 40B hotpack level 12 kernel 348 from an HP-UX 10.20 9000 machine with 1GB ram 2CPUs to a Sun V440 Solaris/sparc 9 with 8GB and 4CPUs. Is this possible? Would the hotpack level create severe risks? Would the hotpack level need to be brought up to date? Where could I find documentation for this? This is urgent, and I have spent a week surfing to no avail.

There is no need to bring the support pack level up to date. Support packages import changes and corrections to the SAP modules. This is a technical migration and therefore not needed. You will find more information on service.sap.com/osdbmigration*.
