I am a person with database administration/development background. I would like to explore the SAP world and find a suitable area to specialize. Many people suggested me to go with Basis Admin. But somebody suggested me that many Basis jobs are getting outsourced and only high caliber jobs are staying back in US. Second option was BW; many people had the previous opinion. Now I am with CRM. Could you please advise me on this? Is CRM the right area I can move into? How is the market? If I work hard, how long it may take to become an expert?
I think SAP Netweaver and XI would be better fit for you based on your previous experience. SAP XI is used for integrating non-SAP systems with SAP CRM. SAP NetWeaver is being used for running Web services also.
