'Best Practice' add-on problems when upgrading to ECC 6.0

We are currently running SAP R/3 4.7 extension set 1.0 and will upgrade to ECC 6.0. How will the upgrade handle the existing "Best Practice" add-on that we have installed? Is there something special we need to do?

Have a look in OSS Note 833009, "Release strategy for BP-BLERP."

SAP ERP 2005 (ECC 600): The SAP Best Practices add-on based on SAP ERP 2005 (ECC 600) is available under the new name BP-ERP05. See also Note 945489, "Release strategy for BP-ERP05".

Behavior during the upgrade to the next SAP ERP release: After an upgrade to a higher SAP ERP release, the add-on BP-BLERP is no longer operative. Therefore, an upgrade is not supported with the add-on. Usually, there is a new version of the add-on BP-BLERP available shortly after introduction of a new SAP ERP release. We recommend that you install this. The old version is deleted passively during the SAP ERP upgrade.

In the Extension Module in the PREPARE phase, confirm the passive deletion of the Best Practices Add-on. After the upgrade, install the version for ECC 6.0
