BDC or BAPI for processing sales orders?

BDC or BAPI for processing sales orders?

Currently we are in a debate about whether to use a BDC or a BAPI to process sales orders. The concerns in using a BAPI are with the complexity of them and the error handling of orders with them (i.e. reprocessing, finding all the error possibilities, etc.). We are estimating processing approximately 3,000 orders at a time. Currently we use a BDC for a similar process and are having some issues with performance. Any advice/information would be appreciated.

BAPI calls are faster than BDC. As for the complexity, you need an experienced consultant to help you (but not me, I am not an SD guru).
