Automate the process of uploading catalogs using XI

In mySAP ERP 2004 there is a Self-Service Procurement (Classic Scenario) included. In our project we want to automate the process of uploading catalogs (both XML and CSV) to CCM using XI. Will the "UploadCatalogue" scenario delivered by SAP be sufficient for my requirements?

A standard interface is available to load product or contract data between SAP R/3(ERP) and SRM into CCM using XI. However, if this interface will be sufficient for your business requirements or not is a question that cannot be easily answered until the business requirements are discussed in more detail. For example, if you have custom fields to extend your product master in R/3 or SRM, these will not be accommodated automatically via this interface unless some user-exits are coded. It's not a very difficult task but nevertheless similar questions need to be answered.

However, I can say that if you're trying to simply upload the standard data without modifications, the SAP provided XI scenario works fine.
