Are the Subroutine pools obsolete in SAP 4.6C?

Are the Subroutine pools obsolete in SAP 4.6C? In which version of SAP were the subroutine pools in use? Can we create subroutine pools using SE38 or do we have any other transaction code? Does a subroutine pool contain interfaces, methods, events?

To my knowledge, they are not obsolete. So many parts of ABAP are alledgedly now obsolete -- I'll believe it when FI/CO is rewritten, as this, being to oldest part of SAP, which uses all these so called obsolete ideas.

Use SE80 to create subroutine pools. Subroutine pools contain FORMs.
