I am trying to learn and use XI with SAP. Can you suggest a good document? I need to know how to configure the middleware with -SAP IDoc- in the port definition to send and recieve the message to external system such as carries ups and so on.

We are all waiting for a good XI tutorial these days. Check at sdn.sap.com if there is something helpful. I found that the SAP help (help.sap.com/xi) is the best documentation as of today. There are also working examples to inspect in XI 3.0.
