Access control and on/off controls

Learn how to control user access and turn off buttons and fields in this expert response.

I have created a table maintenance generator for a table, but I want to deactivate the delete buttons on the toolbar so that users can't delete the entry in the table. Also, I want to do the autorization check for this transaction. What are the steps for accomplishing these tasks?
Use authorization group on table maintenance to control access. Alternatively, create a parameter transaction based on SM30 and protect that with S_TCODE. You can use SHD0 - Transactions and Screen variants to switch off buttons and fields.
